Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation
Course Description
Through interaction with the natural world, outdoor recreation and sport coaching aims to develop an understanding of our relationships with the future career pathways that may exist in areas such as outdoor leadership, guiding activities and environmental interpretation, planning for future environments, managing facilities and eco-tourism. They will also develop the knowledge to contribute to sport at a community level. This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in performing core skills in outdoor recreation environments and assisting with the conduct of a range of outdoor activities. This is a two-year course which is completed over Year 11 and 12. The course contains an even mix of theory and practical activities and assessments including camps and excursions.
