Project Based Investigation: Local Marine Life & Habitats

Year 10 Electives

Course Description

In this hands-on investigation, students will explore the rich biodiversity of local marine ecosystems, focusing on habitats such as mangroves, wetlands, and estuaries. The project will include excursions, incursions, and collaborations with the Department of Parks and Wildlife (DEPAW), offering students the opportunity to engage directly with professionals in the field. As part of the initiative, students will adopt a wetland, participating in conservation efforts while learning about the intricate balance of these vital ecosystems.
Additionally, the project will connect with the Dolphin Discovery Centre, providing further insight into marine life and the importance of environmental stewardship. Through this project, students will gain a deeper understanding of marine habitats and their significance to the local environment
