College Sports Captains Adi and Will Bring the Latest Sports Update - Week 9 Term 2

During our recent assembly, Sports Captains Adi and Will provided an update on some fantastic sports achievements within the College community:

High School Netball Cup

Last Tuesday, we took six teams to the netball cup held in Bunbury. The weather held off and the teams performed well. Both Years 7-8 championship and challenger teams were victorious. Our Years 9-10 challenger team was also victorious, and the 9-10 Championship team finished 3rd. Our senior boys finished second on the day and our senior girls finished third in their group. It was a very successful day for the netballers. A big thanks to all the players, student umpires and our coaches: Mrs Williams, Mrs Eaton, Ms Buck, Mrs Piggott, Ms Walsh and Mrs Pere.

Year 7 ACC AFL

On Tuesday 18 June, was the Year 7 ACC AFL carnival. We took a boys and girls team, and we are pleased to announce that both teams were undefeated. The students performed at a high level and showed tremendous sportsmanship and attack on the ball. Well done to both teams and the coaches, Mr Barraclough, Mr Luzi, Mrs Walsh, Ms Buck, and Adi Griffith.

Country Week

Country Week is held in Week 10 and we will talk more about this on the Friday assembly. A reminder to students to come and collect their Country Week shirts today at recess or lunch. Also any student who has not had their photo taken to come at lunch today to CM3 and we have a Country Week meeting Friday halfway through lunch before the assembly.

OLMC Cross Country

Friday of Week 1, next term, will be the Our Lady of Mercy College cross country. It is a 3km course and will be the same as last year. If you would like to qualify for the Interschool Cross Country team you must place in the top 5 for your year and gender. So get training during the holiday. More information will be sent to parents this week.

In England, they faced a tough challenge against the legendary Arsenal FC, resulting in a 10-1 loss. But their resilience shone through with a 1-1 draw against Cambridge United. The adventure continued in Denmark amidst a massive field of 566 teams.
