Recently, forty Year 9 students visited the Construction Futures Centre in Belmont. This state-of-the-art facility was specifically designed to ignite their curiosity and shed light on the vast array of career opportunities within the dynamic Building and Construction sector.
Stepping into the centre, students were greeted with interactive displays and cutting-edge virtual reality technology, offering them an immersive experience in understanding various work roles. They delved into the world of crane operations and got hands-on with excavating equipment, gaining valuable insights into residential, commercial, and civil construction, as well as careers in the Resource sector.
This excursion was part of the Year 9 Career Taster program, which aims to assist Year 9 students in exploring their interests and shaping their future career aspirations.

Construction Scholarship Program in Partnership with the Construction Training Fund.
For students interested in pursuing a career in construction, the College partners with the Construction Training Fund (CTF) to offer scholarships for those in Years 11 and 12.
The CTF Scholarships present an incredible opportunity for students to embark on a promising career in construction while still pursuing their studies at the College. The program combines work experience, training, and education, empowering students to explore and plan their future career options. Specifically tailored for Year 11 and Year 12 students, the scholarship program acts as a stepping stone towards securing an apprenticeship and establishing a career in the building and construction industry.
Applications are now open for Year 10 students wishing to apply for the CTF Scholarship in 2025.
