Exploring Pathways to Medicine with the Rural Clinical School

Thank you to Emma Cooper from the Rural Clinical School of Western Australia for visiting our College on Monday, 10 March. Our students participated in a Medical Q&A session with Emma which provided them with the opportunity to learn about the process and requirements involved in pursuing a career in the medical field.

The Rural Clinical School of Western Australia is a collaboration between the University of Western Australia, Curtin University, and Notre Dame University. Established in 2002, the school aims to improve health outcomes for rural communities by encouraging and supporting students to pursue medical careers in regional areas.

Emma's visit was particularly inspiring for our Years 10, 11, and 12 students who are considering a future in Medicine. She shared her knowledge about the different pathways available for studying Medicine at universities across Western Australia as well as information about UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) preparation—an important component for medical school entry. Emma’s presentation sparked curiosity, leaving students well-informed about the possibilities ahead.

We appreciate Emma’s time and expertise, and we encourage any students interested in medical careers to make contact with our Career Services Department for further guidance. Thank you once again, Emma, for your support.
