Calling all parents and friends of the College – WE NEED YOU!
The College is seeking a team of enthusiastic parents and friends to form our P&F Committee to assist with the following:
Determining how to allocate funds raised through the P&F levy, which is paid by families as part of their College fees.
Organising one or two community activities per year to help build a strong, positive community at our College.
What would your commitment be as a volunteer?
Attending one evening meeting per term (approximately one hour).
Assisting with activities that help build community.
Just to clarify a common misconception – this is not a fundraising committee.
Since families contribute through the P&F levy, there is no pressure to fundraise.
How is the P&F levy used?
The money is used to directly benefit students by:
Supporting programs that fall outside the normal school curriculum.
Purchasing resources and equipment not covered by Learning Area budgets.
Each term, staff are invited to submit a wish list, identifying projects or items that would benefit the students and that they would like the P&F to support.
What did the P&F assist with last year?
Purchasing new interschool sport uniforms, including replacing older uniforms, expanding size options, and increasing the number of uniforms to accommodate growing interschool teams.
Providing ongoing support for the College’s Breakfast Club.
Installing booths in a breakout area of the Angela Costello Building to facilitate small group learning.
What are community activities?
Activities designed to bring College families together to build connections. We have not held this type of event since 2020. Think sundowner or sausage sizzle.
Is there support for the Committee?
Yes! The College is a member of the Parents and Friends Federation of WA, which provides extensive resources to help P&F members across Catholic Education in WA.
