On Friday, 3 November, students Lilli, Tayla, Damon, Bailey, Jack, Luke, and Alain presented a $4,000 cheque to Father Jess and Esther from the Harvey Community Dinner on behalf of the entire College community.
This generous donation was collected during our recent Feast Day and will go towards supporting the incredible volunteers in Harvey who prepare 150 meals per week for those in need.
Father Jess was overjoyed to witness our younger community members taking part in this initiative. He emphasised that the Harvey Community Dinner not only aids those in need but also fosters a stronger sense of community spirit in the Harvey area. A number of our students volunteer for the Harvey Community Dinner as part of their hours for their Christian Service Learning.
The Feast Day celebration, rooted in our Catholic heritage, encompasses liturgical ceremonies and festivities. Our students were delighted to see the return of the Feast Day market stalls, and their hard work yielded an impressive sum of around $7,600!
These funds will not only go to the Harvey Community Dinner but also to other crucial organisations such as Mercy Works, Caritas, Catholic Mission and Catholic Care.
