Double Honours: Taya Larkman Shines with IVET Excellence and Harvey Community Citizen Awards

Our Lady of Mercy College, Class of 2023 student Taya Larkman, has recently been recognised with not just one, but two prestigious awards.

Firstly, Taya's dedication and excellence in her studies have earned her the IVET Excellence Award, which she received for her outstanding accomplishments in studying Certificate III in Sport and Recreation and Certificate II in Outdoor Education. Nominated by the Head of Learning Area Health and Physical Education, Mrs Pere, Taya's leadership skills and commitment to her course studies have earned her a place among the top eight students nationally to receive this prestigious award.

Beyond her academic pursuits, Taya's journey of success extends into the area of community service. On Australia Day, Taya was honoured with the Harvey Community Citizen of the Year Award. This award recognises Taya's remarkable volunteer efforts, her commitment to the Harvey Shire Youth Collective, and her exceptional leadership skills and community spirit.

These two achievements really highlight Taya’s dedication to personal growth and her impactful contributions to our community.

Head of Learning Area - Career Services, Mr Dale Briers, proudly presents Taya Larkman with the prestigious IVET Excellence Award.

The College congratulates Taya on this remarkable achievement and expresses its gratitude to the IVET Group for their partnership in delivering a diverse range of VET courses that empower students like Taya to excel in both their academic and community endeavours.
