On Monday, 21 June, twenty nine of our Year 10 students visited GEO-Day at The University of Western Australia in Perth.
It was a great opportunity for our students to learn more about studying Geography, the different pathways available to them, and how Geography in general could benefit them.
They participated in an interactive lecture, undertook a group-based field trip at Matilda Bay, engaged in a data analysis tutorial in the Geographical Information System (GIS) lab, and met the staff and students from Geography at UWA.
The students really enjoyed the experience and found it very useful.
"The Geo-day was definitely a worthwhile experience. It gave a good taste of what uni life is like and the facilities available and some course outlines. I recommend it to next year’s Year 10 students." Henry King
