In association with Skill Hire and Nara Training, Our Lady of Mercy College offered Year 10 students the opportunity to complete their White Card Training course today.
The White Card Course through Skill Hire is a nationally accredited construction course designed to give trainees the necessary skills and knowledge to work in the construction industry.
It specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required to undertake construction work. It is a useful tool for students wishing to undertake a trade pathway and workplace learning opportunities throughout Years 10, 11 and 12.
Students on the course today were engaged and grateful for the opportunity, kindling a keen interest in the construction industry.
"Thanks to the Careers Department and Skill Hire a group of students and I had the privilege of completing our White Card course at the College. An industry white card is an essential component of working in the construction industry as it is mandatory for all construction workers. The course provided us with a comprehensive understanding of safety within a jobsite, along with an excellent insight into career pathways in construction." Aidan Meango
We wish to thank Ian Redstall from Skill Hire for presenting the course and Nara Training for facilitating.
