Our Year 9 students invited their grandparents or significant extended family members to an afternoon tea on Friday, 28 October 2022. The grandparents were greeted by their grandchildren and welcomed by Principal Mr Crothers. The Year 9 Student Leaders presented a short liturgy followed by a live music performance.
The grandparents enjoyed chatting with their grandchildren as well as a delicious afternoon tea, served by the Year 11 Hospitality students.
It was a wonderful way to celebrate Grandparents Day and recognise the wonderful contributions grandparents or significant others play in our families and community.
The College received some lovely feedback from one of our Mercy families:
Hello Joanne,
I just wanted to touch base and thank you and your team for organising the Grandparents' afternoon tea.
Kiana's grandmother said how lovely it was and that she thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. She said the students did a great job serving the afternoon tea.
Apparently, it was delicious.
Thanks again; it's a lovely gesture celebrating the grandparents' involvement in raising our children.
Kind regards,
Marnie Gwyn, mother of Kiana (Year 9)
